Today, in "What the hell is it?" we have a look at this rather common substance.
A hint is, as you can see, that ninjas don't need it. Ever.

ten points and a packet of chewing gum for the first person to get this right.

Indeed it is, but you won't get any points for getting it this late.
The chewing gum is still on the table though, if you can drag your ass a bit closer to the north sometime. :D
